All the developed countries around the world are building super tall skyscrapers to show off their wealth and prosperity. But it is not a denying fact that these are being built to accommodate the ever rising population of the major metropolitan cities of the world. The skyscrapers give an excellent shape of a city and these are often considered as the fame and prestige of a city. The quest for the skyscrapers began in the last quarter of the 19th century in the United states to accomodate the increasing city centric people of that time. Dubai, the major financial hub of the UAE has done a marvel and has created a history by creating the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world standing at a height of 829.8 meters. It has broken all the previous and has recreated a history in the greatest feat of human engineering. Burj Khalifa is situated in Downtown Dubai and is the center piece of the Downtown Dubai project. 4. Formerly at the time of its construction Burj Khalifa was known as Burj Dubai. Later on upon its completion Burj Dubai was renamed as Burj Khalifa to honour the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa Bin-Zayed Al-Nahyan.


5. The Burj Khalifa has the fastest elevators and surprisingly it has the longest travel distance.


6. The Burj Khalifa is one of the costliest buildings in the world. The construction of the building costs $1.5 billion dollars. The building is owned by Emaar Properties, the leading property developers in the UAE.


7. The Burj Khalifa is The centerpiece of Downtown Dubai. It is a tourist magnet to the UAE and to the Downtown Dubai.


8. It has the tallest observation deck in the world. Millions of tourists come each year to have a view of the magnificent Dubai city from the tallest observation deck in the world.


9. The elevation of Burj Khalifa is so high that the top of it can be viewed from a distance of upto 95 kilometers.


10. Infront of the Burj Khalifa the second largest water fountain is located which is known as Dubai Fountain. You can have an excellent romantic view of the Fountain from the Burj Khalifa.
